Before opening the next email, you might stop for a sip of coffee. While writing a note, you might pause to find the right word. Sometimes the cursor waits over a button while you decide what comes next. Those small gaps belong to the activity as much as the movement does.

A busy screen can make everything feel urgent. But reading does not need to look like racing to the bottom. Some people move in small increments. Others take a larger sweep and settle into a paragraph. Both leave room to return to something worth another look.

People aren’t
fixed patterns.

Your pace changes between tasks, devices, and days. Reading a long document feels different from composing an email. A trackpad invites different movements from a mouse. A phone held in one hand changes how far a thumb can comfortably reach.

Context matters. A quiet page does not mean a different person has arrived, and a short burst of fast scrolling does not explain everything about the person using it. A useful comparison needs enough measured activity and an honest way to represent missing information.

Your reference is a sample of how you interact during these activities. It is not a claim that you will behave exactly the same way every time you use the internet.
